Open Resource Access During COVID-19

by Chrissy Karafit on 2020-03-20T08:54:50-05:00 | 0 Comments

To support students and faculty as classes transition online, the UCA Library has created the Open Resource Access During COVID-19 guide, which provides links to online textbooks, ebooks, journals, and articles that publishers have made temporarily freely available. There is also a link to limited free streaming video content. Some platforms require users to create a free account or to request access. RedShelf and VitalSource are offering free access to ebooks through May 25th, 2020, and many of the Library's print textbooks are available in digital format on these platforms. Here is a list of Library textbooks that are temporarily available for free on these platforms.

The guide also includes a page of Open Educational Resources with freely accessible repositories, textbooks, and course materials, and a page of sources for open access journals. We continue to add new accessible resources as we learn about them.

The Library will be closed from noon Friday, March 20 thru Sunday, March 22. During Spring Break (March 23 - March 27), the Library building will be closed to all except Library personnel, but the Library will continue to provide research assistance via phone, email, Google chat, and Google meet.  Please check the UCA Library's Continuing Services and COVID-19 Updates for changes to library hours and services.

If you need assistance, please call us at (501) 450-5224 or contact us through the Ask Us page.

Stay safe, be well, and let us know how we can help!
