The LGBTQIA+ C.R.E.W. Presents: Book Clubbing

The LGBTQIA+ C.R.E.W. (Coalition for Resources, Encouragement, and Wellness) in conjunction with Torreyson Library, Gender Studies, and Institutional Diversity & Inclusion are celebrating our launch event on December 6, 2019 at 4pm in Torreyson Library. This event is our introduction to the campus and our plans for the future. LGBTQIA+ CREW is a group of individuals and allies who are creating programming and events to bring the community together in safe spaces to celebrate and support one another. To accomplish this, we are announcing events we have planned for the upcoming Spring 2020 semester.

As a little sneak peek, the Book Clubbing event will be one of the first events in the new year. With this event, an LGBTQIA+ positive book has been selected to be read by all who are interested, students, faculty, staff, or members of the community. (Which book is still a secret, so be sure to come on December 6th to find out which one we are reading!) There will then be a book club meeting in February to discuss the book in a fun, laid-back environment that is a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies. Keep an eye on the Book Clubbing LibGuide because once the announcement has been made on December 6th the guide will officially launch and be available to view! You can also check out great guides like the Gender, Sex, and Sexuality Community Resources guide while you’re waiting.

The LGBTQIA+ C.R.E.W. consists of the following members, but we are growing all the time with new people. Please feel free to reach out to any of these individuals with questions or for support:

Dr. Paige Rose, Music Department
Ronald Jensen-McDaniel, Community Music Institute
Jaimee Jensen-McDaniel, Community Music Institute
Dr. Taine Duncan, Dept. of Philosophy and Religion
Tamela Smith, Torreyson Library
Hannah Hanshaw, Torreyson Library
Danielle Kraus, Torreyson Library
