Military and Veteran Resources

Welcome

The Torreyson Library supports our local military, veterans and their families.  The library has many resources available to help you with your research, school projects and locating support along the path toward your degree.  This guide is intended as a starting point to help you find both print and online information. If you need more help, visit the library's Reference Desk or use the contact information on the left to speak to a librarian. The University also has a thriving Army ROTC program and Veteran's Resource Center available for you.

If you are new to doing research at the library, you may want to look at the How Do I... research guide.  It will show you how to find books, articles, and get materials from other libraries.

Student Veterans Resource Center

The University of Central Arkansas Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRA) is located next to the library in Old Main, Room 206D. Today's Veterans face numerous obstacles as they work towards a college degree. These challenges may include missing the camaraderie of a military unit, feeling like an outsider when among traditional students or difficulties communicating with university faculty.  When coupled with the visible or invisible wounds of war, these obstacles can seem insurmountable for men and women returning from military service.  However, SVRC is working together with the Student Veterans of America (SVA) to empower veterans as they conquer these challenges and achieve their goal of a college degree.
