Installing Respondus LockDown on Your Personal Computer

Respondus LockDown Browser is often required for taking online tests and quizzes. When Respondus LockDown is required for a test, you cannot access that test through a normal Internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, et cetera). If you try to access your test on a browser such as Chrome, you will be prompted to type in a password. This password is meant for faculty use only and is not meant to be used by students. Therefore, the only way to access your test is to sign into your Blackboard account using Respondus LockDown browser.

Downloading Respondus LockDown Browser

Step 1.

Visit UCA’s Respondus LockDown Browser webpage (you can Google “UCA LockDown Browser” if the link above doesn’t work) and click the green “Download Respondus LockDown Browser” button. You will be directed to a new page.

Step 2.

On the left side of the new page, it will show the version of the application that will be downloaded. Your browser should automatically detect the version appropriate for your operating system, but if not, you can click the “Do you need the Mac/Windows version?” link. Click the “Install Now” button.

NOTE: Only Mac and Windows versions are available. Unfortunately, there is no Linux version at this time.
