"Inclusive Citation" is the practice of intentionally citing intellectual or creative work representative of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, experiences, etc. One goal of inclusive citation is to seek out voices that are historically underrepresented or disadvantaged by the traditional scholarly publishing structures. By purposefully diversifying your sources, you both enrich your own understanding of a topic and help move toward more equitable scholarship.
The presentation below is intended to help you begin seeking out scholars from a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives. Consider this a starting point to help you learn more about inclusive citation practices.
