Hello and welcome to the student-led Asian Studies Resource Guide hosted by Torreyson Library. This guide is intended to serve as a starting point for undergraduate research projects related to Asia. Here you will find links to books, articles, sources, and archives to kick-start your research project, with a focus on materials that center the experiences and ideas of people within Asia.

The interdisciplinary Asian Studies minor program at UCA provides students with a robust overview of the languages, ideas, histories, politics, and art of the most populous, economically powerful, and important countries in the world. The program defines Asia broadly, instilling an appreciation for Asian cultures while also building an awareness of the regional differences distinguishing the places united by the term “Asia.”

Through a variety of focused, seminar-style classes, Asian Studies minors are exposed to the ways in which Asian nations have historically been and continue to be deeply connected to larger global processes of economic and cultural exchange. In this regard, the minor program in Asian Studies aims to produce graduates who are thoughtful, well rounded, and well-prepared to function in an increasingly globalized world.
